This ancient painting was retrieved from the temple wall of Wat Porrukharam, also known as Wat Kampong Tralach Leu, in Kampong Chhnang Province. According to research, Wat Porrukharam was constructed in 1672, the temple was completed in 1847, and the painting was created in 1850.
The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts found that these paintings are identical to those in the Preah Keo Morakot Temple, located in the Royal Palace and dating back to the same period. This old painting is regarded as a valuable heritage that cannot be measured. The “Sanleuktes” Gallery recreated historical murals on temple walls that had deteriorated over time, following the original model.
